Drumming for the New Drum Owner

There is a thrill that every one gets when buying their first drum. Something about the sound grabs us. Something about the feel draws us in. Our inner wild thing wakes up and wants to come out an play. Then, for a lot of us, we get home and realize we haven't the foggiest notion what to do with it.
If this feel familiar, there is an answer. Drumming is fun to practice and easy to learn. With a few
helpful hints and some practice, anyone can hold their own in typical Pagan drum circle. From there
only practice stands in your way to being a great drummer.

Bring your drum to a play shop on how to make beautiful music with others. We'll talk about standard drum circle etiquette, how to hold your drum, what sounds you can get from your drum and how to make them. By the end of the play shop you will love how well you play with others.

Objective: Present the current standards of the community, introduce basic techniques for holding and using the drums present, demonstrate alchemical rhymatism as one way of learning to play with a group

He has learned many arts at the side of many gurus. Over and over again he sets out as a seeker, coming to mastery and returning to seeker again. Walking the circle over and over again to see the path from different angles and through different eyes. Now, he teaches from his experiences and insights into the many ways in which Spirit manifests Itself within and around us in every aspect of life.  Whittney is a regular presenter and facilitator for local events such as Free Spirit Gathering and FSG Beltane.
