How do we find the time to dedicate to ourselves when we've dedicated so much to our friends/family that there isn't much left to ourselves?

Unfortunately, I have reached the bottom of the well and feel as though I am wallowing in the muck. Thankfully, I am graced with some serious survival skills and have started searching for ways to pull myself up and out. I am, by nature, a nurturer and a people please. I find that I have to struggle with my own nature in order to preserve my wellbeing. Not the easiest challenge I've ever faced.

I appreciate all of your ideas and positive thinking, you have brightened my path.

I always believed, that if you keep going to the well, and it runs dry, then you can't help anyone. So I learned to set a timer for 15 minutes to read or noodle or whatever. I also take a walk which is to me, meditation.

This is a difficult one.... I am currently trying to find time for meditation. The only alone "quiet" time I get to myself is when I am driving somewhere, and this is not a good time for meditation ;)

Here are some thoughts running through me: Maybe "I" should consider "myself" one of my friends, or family members, who desperately needs me. Then I will prioritize "me" as someone who I should make some time for. Even if I only get 5 or 10 minutes in the shower, or even just sitting in the bathroom - at home or work - to do a mini prayer session or devotional, each little bit helps. It is so important.

Thank you for these thoughts

Peace,
Gwendolyn
