Pastel smudges on fingers
delicate touch of heart upon paper
dreams manifested inside the spirit
which dwells in dream state push
of starry skies inked in midnight blue
as the moon dances across the blanket
summoning the night swaddled lovingly
within the infinite universe

Beckon the sunset
for twilight spins her colours
darkening hues that delight both
eyes and soul with a tender twirl as stars
find their way through the deepening blue
transcending a stairway from heart to sky
in a whispered hush as mourning doves cry
a flutter of wings as lightning bugs signal
